The ApneaRx is the only FDA-approved sleep apnea mouth guard that you can mold at home - no trip to the dentist is needed!

Key Benefits of the ApneaRx:

  • ApneaRx is an oral appliance for sleep apnea device that, unlike over-the-counter snoring mouthpieces like Zyppah and Puresleep, is clinically proven to treat mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
  • ApneaRx is the only mandibular advancement device (MAD) that you can make at home; avoid visiting the dentist multiple times and having to pay $2000-$5000 for an overpriced oral device. The simple "boil and bite" method is similar to how you make a sports mouthguard.
  • Unlike fixed OTC, anti-snore devices, the ApneaRx is adjustable by 1mm increments to fully open the airway while maintaining comfort and effectiveness. This reduces the risk of side effects like jaw joint pain.
  • Dental devices are the most popular alternative to CPAP for OSA.

Note: The device typically needs to be replaced every 8-12 months. It is not recommended for patients with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ or TMD).

It costs $249.
Does insurance cover sleep apnea devices?
You'll need to check with your insurance company as to their coverage policy for oral appliances for sleep apnea. We are happy to provide you with a "superbill" with the appropriate diagnostic codes for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement or to count towards your deductible.
How well do mouthpieces work for sleep apnea?
Generally, appropriate candidates for MADs will experience a significant improvement in their degree of OSA and snoring as well as feeling better during the day. After adjusting the device to eliminate snoring, a repeat sleep study is recommended to make sure that your sleep apnea is appropriately treated.
Do I need a prescription for this device?
Yes, you need a prescription from an authorized healthcare provider. Our sleep physician can provide you with a prescription by meeting with him online. You'll need to have already had a sleep study which shows mild-to-moderate OSA.
How do sleep apnea mouthpieces work?
The ApneaRx is in a category of sleep apnea mouthpieces called "mandibular advancement devices" or MADs. These are the most commonly used oral appliances for OSA. They push the lower jaw forward to open up space in the airway, primarily behind the tongue, but other areas of the posterior upper airway may also be opened.
Can a sleep apnea mouthpiece help severe sleep apnea?
The current guidelines from the governing body of sleep medicine is to not use sleep apnea mouthpieces for severe sleep apnea. However, they can be considered if the patient tries and fails CPAP.
What are the main side effects of oral appliances for sleep apnea?
The main side effects are dental-related. Make sure that your teeth and gum health is safe for oral appliances. People with advanced periodontal disease should not use MADs because loose teeth can be pulled out. People with severe TMD should not use MADs. Long-term use of MADs can cause tooth movement and negatively affect your bite.
